There I was, sitting in my car, waiting for the traffic light to turn green and I saw it. The sign that triggered so many thoughts in my head. “Divorce $99″ was printed on a small white sign that was planted into the ground. What an amazing thing to see and how sad at the same time. The first thing I thought about was all the money one might invest into their marriage, but if it doesn’t work out, they can get out for only $99.
Typically we celebrate a marriage, but I bet so many today celebrate their divorce. Marriage is so hard but raising a child is hard too We don’t run away from our children when things get rough. Why do we run from marriage? When we get really upset with our spouse, we tend to magnify all their flaws and think why did we ever marry that person in the first place. We keep thinking to ourselves, we don’t love them anymore. Again I revert back to our children, whom we love unconditionally, always, no matter how bad or mean they can be. We hope with our children. Why not apply the same hope in our marriages? If it is not perfect, that’s fine, nothing or no one will ever be perfect. If its absolutely too painful to go on, don’t call the number on that stupid sign, call your spouse and talk to them.
